Goodbye America, Hello Oxford

Well, I've done it again: I've left the country. And this time I don't have to worry about dengue fever, malaria, or Manuel Zelaya being arrested in his pajamas. For the next nine months, I will be studying at the University of Oxford, about 60 miles northwest of London, while I complete a master's degree in Archaeology. Classes officially start this upcoming Monday, and after a week of orientation sessions I'm really looking forward to getting started.

I may be seven hours ahead of and nearly 5,000 miles away from home, but while I am here I am hoping I can stay as connected to my friends and family back in the States as possible. Hence, this blog. Just as I did in Copan, I plan to make regular entries regarding the various things going on in my life abroad (including photos!) so everyone can keep updated. Do keep in mind that my purpose here is to be a student (at least, that is what it says on paper), so I reserve the right to lose track of my blog-posting responsibilities from time to time. But, I will make every effort to post as often as I can.

More posts to come.
